Hi Caroline,I had mentioned in the fall that I would send you a review of your small pie machine and crimper. New Crimper Design for 2017 : "Bead" design

One of our customers in Western Canada asked for a different design in a crimper.  She described what she wanted and Rob designed this new one we call "Bumps".  This crimper is unique in that it can be made as part of a die for forming single crust pie or tart crusts.  If you make open pies like pumpkin or custard pies and wish to have a decorative edge this would be a nice one to use as it can form the crust and put the design into the dough in one step.    It is also sold as a...

Making tarts or pies in a Hurry!

In 2015 our customer September Farm Cheese - ordered a customized pie machine to form tart shells directly into their muffin pans.   This machine is a modified Professional Pie Machine and does not have interchangeable dies - the dies are fixed in place. Summer Pie Making Season

It's the end of May - the time we ask our customers to plan ahead for the summer baking season.  Birds Hill Enterprises made the decision a few years ago to close during the month of July so we and our employees may have some much needed rest and relaxation.   The summer season is short here in Manitoba, Canada and we want to be able to spend time with family and to work in our large garden.   We thank you for your understanding.  We will be checking our orders, phone messages and emails weekly.  Foil pan orders should be in before the last...
