All About Pies! — empanada machine;

Birds Hill Pocket Pies

It's been a busy spring - lots of customers gearing up for their tourist season, farmers markets with purchasing new machines and calling for information on our products.  Today we put our 4" pocket pie press to the test.  My daughter-in-law Jessica wanted to make gluten free samosas and pizza pockets together.  We had a fun day doing this and made 395 pocket pies.  The dough is super easy and is half Maseca corn flour and half P.A.N. white corn flour mixed with warm water.  The fillings are on my Gluten Free Blog "Applewood Recipe Box"  I figure the gluten...

New Empanada Design!

   We have had requests over the years for a different design on the empanada die so that customer's who make numerous fillings could tell them apart.  Rob has designed and tested a scroll design which gives the empanada a more traditional rolled edge look.  Customers who  have already purchased this design have given us very positive feed back from themselves and their customers.   This item can be found on our Pocket Pie Machine page and is currently available in the 6.5" and 7" designs under "additional designs"

Watched a nice video the other day on one of our customer's web pages advertising their gluten free empanadas!  I was impressed with all the beautiful empanadas shown on the video which they  made using our Empanada/Pocket Pie Machine with a 6 1/2" die.
