Pastry Docker
Posted by Caroline Booy on
A pastry docker is one of the stranger looking tools that you will find in a kitchen. It is a food preparation tool that is used to pierce pie dough to prevent over rising or blistering and helps the pie crust bake as evenly as possible. Docking is the process of creating small vents in the dough which many people do with a fork if making one or two pies. If you have a lot of pies to "prick" or dock then you can complete the job much quicker by using one of our custom made pie dockers. We can make our pastry pricker to the diameter of the bottom of your tart or pie pan. The points on dough docker are made of stainless steel and are embedded into the wood.
